PATROL DIVISION

The Talbot County Sheriff’s Office, Patrol/Operations Division, often referred to as the backbone of an agency, is responsible for patrolling the 477 square miles that make up Talbot County and for serving the 37,000 citizens. The Patrol/Operations Division is the first line of defense and are the first responders to citizen calls for service.

The Patrol/Operations Division is led by a Commander (Captain) who is assisted by a First Sergeant who directs 25 sworn members, including supervisors and deputies. The Patrol/Operations Division is responsible for responding to calls for service, community outreach, Circuit Court security, serving court orders, traffic enforcement, motor vehicle collision investigations, drug interdiction enforcement, criminal enforcement, assisting disabled motorists and making arrests. 

The Talbot County Sheriff’s Office Patrol/Operations Division works diligently towards community policing, always putting the needs and the safety of Talbot County citizens first.
